Time to keep the ball rolling.

I am hoping to stay active this year. I currently have a couple of offers for fights yet this Winter and Spring, and I will be sure to post here when my next contracts are signed. After a victory to start the year, it seems like I am moving forward with my career.

I was asked to begin a blog on MNMMAnews.com recently, so, if you are interested in hearing more details about my past and present in fighting, that would be something worthwhile to check out.

My team has several guys yet to compete this month, so I need to get back from vacationing and keep on coaching. I am looking forward to keeping my team busy with events as well as getting fights for myself, so this should be a busy time.

Check back soon to find out about my next fight.

Peace.

Logan Clark vs Chris Barden (okay video)

It was fun to get back to winning on Saturday night. My striking was wild as could be, but I knew I could get away with it this time. I knew that I would have a lot more movement than he would be prepared to handle.

Featured Bouts -

Welterweight Title Bout: (Five Rounds)
Mike “the Warrior” Wenzel  (6-1) vs Chuck Parmelee (29-7-1)
This bout features one of Minnesota’s toughest rising star, Mike Wenzel, and a talented ten year veteran of the sport, Chuck Parmelee. This will be another tough test for Wenzel who has taken challenging fight throughout his brief career.  Wenzel will likely try to keep it standing with Parmelee who is the more experienced wrestler. Wenzel has a number of TKO stoppages but has also finished fight with submissions set up by his intimidating standup.

Welterweight Bout:
Ultimate Fighter Veteran Tom “Farmboy” Speer (12-4) vs Dan Stittgen (3-0)
Ultimate Fighter runner-up and WEC veteran Speer looks to get his second win of 2009 as he faces Stittgen, who has yet to be defeated in his combined amateur and professional bouts. Speer will likely look to use his aggressive wrestling and ground and pound to control and finish the bout. Stittgen trains out of the Midwest Training Center with Clay Guida and will have had the perfect aggressive, well-conditioned training partner to simulate Speer’s style, but will that be enough to keep his perfect record intact?

Heavyweight Bout:
Travis “Diesel” Wiuff (56-13) vs Jason Guida (17-22)
Wiuff is one of the Midwest’s most experienced fighters. The PRIDE, UFC, and Sengoku veteran will face another extremely experience Midwestern fighter in Jason Guida. Both fighters have face too many highly talented opponents to name.  Both fighters began as wrestlers and the winner will likely be the person who can put his opponent on the mat.

Main Event -

Middleweight Bout
Logan “The Pink Pounder” Clark (13-3) vs Chris Albandia (8-4)
Clark returns for his fight is his home area since July of 2006. The UFC, WEC, and Sengoku veteran will face M-1 and IFL veteran Chris Albandia. Albandia is a nine year veteran of the sport who wrestled at St Olaf University in Minnesota before beginning his career and has faced Lee Murray, Fabio Leopoldo, and Andre Semenov in his career. The southpaw will likely look to use his wrestling to put Clark on the mat to pound out a victory.

Special Guest -
Clay Guida

Minor Setback

I was forced to drop out of my Aug 16th bout after I injured my knee in training. I tried to train with it for a while, but I just wasn’t going to be able to compete. I’ve fought hurt before, but I decided that this would be the first time that I would drop out of a fight.

I had really been looking forward to the opportunity to fight up a weight and travel to Amsterdam, but I hope that M-1 will want to have me back another time soon. They are putting on shows all over the world, so I don’t know if I will get a chance to make the same trip, but I am sure they could find another interesting place to send me.

I’ve been working hard to get my knee feeling better. This should be a challenge that I can get through fairly quickly. It looks like I will have to wait until October to make my return to competition.

Peace.
